about

A little something to dispel the myth of the German Autobahn. Whilst it is true that there are parts where you can drive very fast, they are sprinkled through a road network that is liable to the same issues as any other and it is quite easy to spend as much time sat in seemingly endless queues as it is to be enjoying an unfettered motoring experience. When it's good, it's great, though!

lyrics

We're speeding down the Autobahn [We're speeding. We're speeding]
Travelling as fast as we can.

We're slowing on the Autobahn [We're slowing. What happened?]
This was never part of the plan.
- Stuck behind a wide load towing a kit house.

We're crawling on the Autobahn [Unending Verkehrstau]
This is getting desperate, Dan.
- Widening the road, these cones go on forever.

We're speeding down the Autobahn [We're speeding. We're speeding]
Travelling as fast as we can.

We're sitting on the Autobahn [Not moving, going nowhere]
Might be quicker if we got out and ran.
- Somewhere miles ahead a lorry broke down...
- There's a bomb scare at the border crossing...
- Geisterfahrer warning on the radio.

We're speeding down the Autobahn [We're speeding. We're speeding]
Travelling as fast as we can.
